Mr. Abram Dunn

Abram Dunn was born February 2, 1938 in Augusta, Georgia to the late James H. Sr. & Willie Mae Dunn. He departed this life July 2, 2020. He was the fifth of six children. Five siblings – Queen Dunn, Martha Dunn Hatcher, James H. Dunn, Jr, Charles Dunn and Mildred Dunn Jones; and one nephew/son Ronald A. Pharr, preceded him in death.

Abram was baptized at an early age and a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. He was ordained a Deacon and later years earned the title Deacon Emeritus. Abram was a graduate of Lucy Craft Laney in the Class of 1957 and attended Paine College. He went on to serve in the United States Army.

After serving in the Armed Forces Abram was employed by Talmadge Hospital (MCG). He was a longtime employee of Proctor & Gamble, retiring after 30 years of service. Abram was also a longtime employee of The Augusta National, retiring with 20 years of service.

Abram was a member of Southern Gentlemen, the VFW and American Legion Post 505, where he served many years as Commander. He was a faithful contributor to Augusta Mini Theatre and St. Jude’s. Abram was united in holy matrimony to Frankalene Hill on August 31, 1968. This union was blessed with the birth of one son, Daryl Keith.

Graveside services will be held (today) Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Olive Memorial Gardens, 3666 Deans Bridge Road, Hephzibah, GA with Reverend Dr. Charles E. Goodman, Jr., officiating.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, social distancing and facial masked are required and will be observed.

He leaves to mourn his passing and celebrate his legacy and homegoing, his loving wife Frankalene Dunn, his son Daryl Keith Dunn, four grandchildren; Avery and Ayden Dunn, Brandi (Robert) Larmore, San Diego, CA, Brittany (DeAnthony) Bishop, Atlanta, GA, three great -grands; Melia and Ethan Larmore, Jaden King, San Diego, CA, In-laws; Mamie Dunn, James Hatcher, Bronx, NY, James (Bertha) Hill, Charles Pharr, Durham, NC and Betty Harris; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
