THERE IS A TIME TO BE BORN: Mrs. Josephine Brown was born August 7, 1939 in Valdosta, GA (Lowndes County) to the late Obbie Brown, Sr. and Margaret S. Brown-McKiver

THERE IS A TIME TO DIE: Mother Josephine Brown moved from her old home and moved to her new home to be with her Savior on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 12:12 A.M. surrounded by her family at South Georgia Medical Center.

THERE IS A TIME TO PLANT: “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” Mother Josephine made sure her children knew the Lord by planting seeds at an early age. In her early years, she was a member of Southside Church of Christ of Valdosta, GA and later joined Morning Star Baptist Church of Valdosta, GA where she was a faithful member until her health declined. She touched many lives during her journey here on earth. She always kept you laughing and was not afraid to speak her mind.

She was employed at Valdosta State University Plant Operations and retired after forty years of service.

Mother Josephine Brown was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Ronnie Austin Brown.

THERE IS A TIME TO MOURN: She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters: Carolyn Heard (Eric), Cassandra J. Ryan both of Atlanta, GA and Claudia D. James of Valdosta, GA; two sons, Danny S. Brown (Marian) of Valdosta, GA and Eddie Brown of Orville, OH; eight grandchildren, Tarnishia P. Scott (Pastor Eric D. Scott) of Macon, GA, Frederick W. Sanders, Jr. of New York, Latisha Burns of Terrell, TX, Tierra Brown, Frederick R. Brown, Donald T. Ryan all of Valdosta, GA, Sean Brown and Safaria Brown both of Orrville, OH; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Obbie Brown, Jr. (Yvonne) and Obbie L. Brown both of Los Angeles, CA; three sisters, Obbie Lee Armstead, Obbie Holt and LaShauna Siebenmorgen (Kim) all of Los Angeles, CA; one uncle, Kenny Brown; a special devoted cousin, Mrs. Carol Ann Stevenson; a special devoted friend, Mr. Carl James; also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Graveside service will be held Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Pastor Eric Scott, officiating.

Public viewing will be held Friday, July 17, 2020 from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
