Dorothy Carnathion Adelia Louise Mae Hall-Simpson-Brooks

Nashville - Born August 14, 1925, in Springfield, Tennessee to the late Hattie (Baker) and Jasper Smith. Dorothy was the oldest of three siblings. Dorothy was married on January 29, 1996, to George Brooks, Sr.

Dorothy accepted Christ at an early age and was a lifetime member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee. Dorothy was one of the oldest living members of Mount Zion Baptist Church at the time of passing. Dorothy was educated in the Nashville Davidson County Public School System graduating from Pearl High School in 1943. Dorothy retired from Metro Nashville Public Schools where she was employed for over 40 years as the Manager of Cafeteria Services. After retirement, Dorothy dedicated her life to serving the Lord's Kitchen at Mount Zion Baptist Church. Dorothy was also a long-standing member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Pace Matrons. She was preceded in death by husband(s) William Simpson and George Brooks, Sr.; sister Annie Mai Benton; sons Lonnie Hall Jr. and Rayburn Hall, Sr, and niece Evelyn Benton. Those left to cherish her memory are: Brother: Jasper Smith, Jr. Devoted Daughters in Law: Gloria Hall Douglas and Michele Hall Mims.

Nephew: Jasper "Sonny" Benton (Frances).Devoted Grandchildren: Zhabaron Hall (Mabeline), Karey Hall (Deyanira), Todd Hall (Lawanda), Clifton Douglas (Judy), Vickeeta Hall Coleman, Kenya Hall, and Rayburn Hall, Jr. Cherished Great-Grand Children: Christopher Hall, Courtney Hall, Zachary Hall, Caroline Hall, Kwincy Eugene Hall, Lailah Hall, Zoey Hall, Kaitlin Hall, Raegan Coleman, Dominique Douglas ,Christopher Douglas, and Traci Maddox; and Six Great-Great Grandchildren. Extended Family: Cynthia Bell, Darrmita Henry, Shirley Head, Don Foster, Clifford Foster, and Carol Childress.

Devoted Friends: Essie Hall, Ann Harris, Evon Champion, Mary Dunlap, Marilyn Holloman, Joan Evans, and Minister Opal Scales.Wake: Wednesday, July 22, 2020, from 12:00 - 6:00 pm at Terrell Broady Funeral Home, 3855 Clarksville Pike, Nashville, TN. Visitation: Thursday, July 23, 2020, at 10:00 am with A Celebration of Life Service to follow at Terrell Broady Funeral Home, 3855 Clarksville Pike, Nashville, TN. Interment, Nashville National Cemetery, Nashville, TN
