Obituary For Deacon Robert Lewis Sr Guy

Deacon Robert “Guy” Lee Lewis Sr., of Augusta, GA, passed away on July 17. 2020. Graveside services will be held Friday, July 24, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at New Fleming Baptist Church Cemetery, 1267 New Fleming Church Road, Bartow GA, 30413 with mask and social distancing. Viewing will be held Thursday, July 23, 2020 from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M. at Davis Funeral Home. He was born on February 15, 1947 to the late Lonnie & Mozzella Lewis. He is preceded in death by his parents & 2 brothers, Howard Lewis & Sammie Lewis. He worked at Jefferson Electric where he served as foreman for 30 years. Also, he drove trucks for B&H and Howard Shepherd for several years. He was a lifelong member of New Fleming Baptist Church where he served as chairman. He was dedicated to the church and served faithfully. Also, he was a dedicated member of the NAACP for several years. He will be deeply missed by his family & friends, and all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Lewis of Augusta GA; 6 children: Johnathan (Patricia) Berry of Wrens, GA, Leon (Tawanda) Lewis of Hephzibah, GA, Denise Lewis of Lawrenceville, GA, Keith (Wanda) Lewis of Hephzibah, GA, LaQuincy Lewis of Augusta, GA, & Robert Lee Lewis Jr. of Thomson, GA. He is also survived by 7 siblings: Clifford Lewis of Miami, FL, Danny Lewis of Augusta, GA, Lonnie Lewis Jr. of Louisville, GA, Bernice Lewis of Martinez, GA, Bonnett McCall of Douglasville, GA, Gladys Walker of Columbus, GA, Lillie Mae Lewis of Miami, FL, ; 2 aunts: Mary Brown Bell of Louisville, GA & Eunice Devero of Louisville, GA; One favorite cousin, Sarah Smith of Macon, GA; 10 grandchildren: Kevin (Kentrice) , Latia, Shatara, Malik, Brandon, Khennedy, Isaiah, Byran, Ke’Andrae, Cannati ; 5 great-grandchildren: Garron, Xavier, Malaysia, Kyle, & Payge; & several nieces and nephews. Davis Funeral Home, 725 Beech Street, Louisville, GA is in charge of arrangements for Deacon Robert “Guy” Lewis, Sr.
