Obituary For Vinnie M. Blount

Mrs. Vinnie M. Blount, age 94 went from labor to reward on July 10,2020.

She taught 2nd grade at Woodson Elementary School in Joanna, SC and was a faithful member of Hebron Baptist Church where she sang in the gospel choir, was a member of the Sunshine club , VFW Auxiliary 5932 and the Women's Aid Society .

The last of her immediate family, she was met at the gate by her parents Mack D. and Lula Moon and her siblings: Bannah Moon Adams,Johnny Mack Moon, Columbus Moon, and Rev. Peter Moon Sr.

Left to cherish her memories are many nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

A private graveside service is scheduled for Thursday July 23,2020 at Orchard Memorial Gardens.

Aunt Vinnie was my last surviving aunt. She lived a full life. As a young child I remember her and Uncle Olin visiting Clinton from Buffalo, NY. They always brought color slides from their travels, sometimes to foreign places, and showed them in the living room at Aunt Bannah's house. (Aunt Vinnie gave me my first snow globe.) During my college years she always encouraged me to excel. Aunt Vinnie loved her family. Although she had no biological children, she loved her nieces and nephews. In her last years I didn't talk with her or visit, but I still loved her. I thank God for allowing Aunt Vinnie to be in my life. #blessedtohaveknownher Sherita Moon Seawright Birmingham, Alabama
