MR. SAMUEL LEWIS HAYES, JR, departed this life at his residence, Thursday, July 16, 2020, in Chase City, VA. He was born April 3, 1953 to Tealie Stone Hayes and the late Samuel L. Hayes, Sr. At an early age he was baptized and joined North View Baptist Church.

Samuel was a 1973 graduate of Bluestone High School. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy from August 29, 1973 to October 6, 1975, receiving an honorable discharge. He served during the Vietnam Era.

After returning home from the Navy, he was employed by Jonbil, Inc., Love and Associates, Inc., Burlington Industries and Johnny Farmers until his health began to decline.

Samuel leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Sandra Terry Hayes; two daughters- Sandra (Antonio) Oliver, VA Beach, VA and Samantha Hayes of Charlotte, NC; one son- Samuel Bullock, Dale City, VA; one grandchild- Samuel Maurice Bullock, Jr.; his mother- Tealie Stone Hayes, Chase City, VA; mother-in-law, Octavia L. Alexander, Skipwith, VA; three sisters- Martha Barbosa, Bronx, NY; Carolyn (Clarence) Tucker, Chase City, VA and Annie (Lawrence) Kersey, Clarksville, VA; a favorite nephew- Keith Hayes, Ft. Worth, TX; one brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; a devoted friend and helper- David Jennings, Chase City, VA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
