Guest Book

What a sweet lady, who always had a smile upon her face and you were not leaving her house without eating a meal. Mrs. Bertha loved her family and made family gatherings when her health allowed. When I last visited her she gave me pictures of her and her husband and children. I shall miss her but her memories will be with me forever. My Mom will meet you there at Heavens Gate(Mrs. Lucille Miller (Gibbs), daughter of Jessie Gilliam-Miller), Betty Gibbs-Cooper, Columbia, SC

My sister and I are grateful to have known Mrs. Bertha. Growing up and playing with her daughter, "Lores" (Vivian), she treated us like her own children. We even had a "sleepover!" When we were in the kitchen, I was about to pour hot sweet tea over ice cubes. She said that the ice would pop. I never heard that before. I poured the tea and sure enough, the ice cubes popped and hit the floor. I felt so bad. She laughed at me. She was always so welcoming. When I walked the dog around the neighborhood, Mrs. Bertha, she would stand in her door. I would stop at the top of the hill. She and I would have a conversation. I will miss seeing her standing in the door and my stopping for our conversations. Again, my sister and I are grateful to have had Mrs. Bertha in our lives.
