Tommy or “Junior or Fire” as he was affectionately called, attended Bessemer City High School. He worked at Bennett Brick and Tile, Anvil Knit and Firestone Mill in Kings Mountain. Later on in the years, he went to work for Lions Services, Inc., Charlotte, North Carolina. He loved rabbit hunting, fishing, shopping for him some clothing and drawing. He loved for his sister, “Net” to pick him up to go to the poker machine and eating at Market Street. He loved his family unconditionally and he will be truly missed.
He leaves to cherish precious memories to three sons: Tommy Lee Moore of Kings Mountain, NC, Torey “Aggie” Farr and Coharey Farr of Gastonia, North Carolina; five sisters: Antionette Rainey (Carlton) of Gastonia, North Carolina, Rosaline Knox, Bertha Mae Williams (Willard), Betrice Knox and Associate Minister Marjorie Knox all of Kingston, New York; two brothers: James Farr (Natalie) of Kings Mountain, NC, James Knox (Diane) of California; nine grandchildren and a host of special friends, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He will lie in state on Friday; July 24, 2020 at the funeral home from 1 until 3.
Funeral will be Saturday; July 25, 2020 at Adams Chapel AME Zion Church at 2:30 p.m.-212 Lake Montonia Road Kings Mountain, NC
Visitation: thirty minutes before the service at the church
Masks are required at all services; live streaming on Saturday beginning at 2:30 p.m.
Social distancing and attendance monitoring will be adhered to.
