Ms. Joyce Delores Alexander, more affectionately known as “Sapphire”, was born to the late Ms. Mary Ruth Cleveland Alexander and the late Mr. Bennie Weaver on January 28, 1959 in Thomaston, Upson County GA. She attended public school in the Thomaston City Schools. After attending high school, she joined the Job Corp and here she earns her GED. Joyce was a member of the New Life Church. She enjoyed the teaching of the word and fellowshipping with the other believers at New Life. Joyce was the mother of two sons, Bryan and Kentron. She was employed for over ten years with Dr. Beth Martin of Alabama. When her health begins to failed, she moved back to Thomaston to be near her family. During her leisure time, she enjoyed going to church, singing, cooking going on vacation, eating out, and playing cards. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ruth Cleveland Alexander, her father, Mr. Bennie Weaver, and one brother, Wesley O’Neal Alexander. On Sunday, July 12, 2020, the Lord gave her wings and her spirit took flight and went home to rest. She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Bryan Alexander and Kentron Alexander; five grandchildren, Latytianna Brown, Brantris Holloway, Braneka Draine, Braylen Murphy, and Kemon Alexander; sisters, Cheryl Reviere, Pollie Alexander, Cathy Alexander, Robin Alexander, Tracy Weaver, Lisa Weaver-Johnson,, Treddis Weaver-Isom and Mary Weaver -Andrews; brothers, Dennis Weaver and Kenneth Jordan; niece, Talisha Wilson; cousins, Mary Trice, Dorothy Durham, Alfred Cleveland, and Kami Durham; devoted friends, Mr. and Mrs. Beth Martin, Mr. and Mrs. Jeffery Gentry and Mrs. Pauly of Alabama; Fiancé, Mr. Hank Harvey; also the Little family who was there for her all of her life and her children; Mr. Hugh Little who was more like a father-friend; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends whom all will miss her love and presence dearly.
