I am saddened at the early departure of a good man and great friend. It was a pleasure working with and knowing Ryan off and on for almost 20 years. His dry humor, quick wit and tales of adventure will be missed. Not to mention that smile and laugh. Your friend, Larry Anderson

Very sad to hear this news. I had the honor of being one of Ryan's subordinates. His mentoring has forever elevated the way that I evaluate and embark on any managerial relationships in my career. You will certainly be missed brother. -- Kenny Hackworth

After all these years, I'm still not sure if Ryan had a great deadpan sense of humor or if that was seasoned-NCO exasperation with a young LT. Either way, I'll always remember him as a good man who was kind and patient with me when I was brand-new to the job. I am praying that everyone who loved him will cherish the good memories that they have of him and somehow find peace that transcends understanding in the midst of this loss. --Seth Gibson
