Obituary For Mother Emma Catherine Spiller

Martin, SC

~OBITUARY~

"Who could find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies, Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised."~Proverbs 31:10, 30

Mother Emma C. Spiller was born May 12, 1947 in Allendale County, South Carolina. She was the beloved daughter of the late Fred Brodus, Sr., and Clara Bell Brodus. Emma affectionately known as "Cat" grew up in the Mt. Hope Baptist Church, following her father who was a deacon there, and she became a baptized member.

She was educated in the public schools of Allendale County.

Mother Emma was employed with Savannah River Site as a Sub-Contractor for over 15 years and other various jobs that she worked along with her sister Ann, you see one you see the other.

Mother Emma was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend to all she knew. She was loved by everyone. She was outgoing, kind, supportive, and she never met a stranger. Mother Emma was beautiful with a smile that could lighten up any room, and she wanted those in her presence to feel special. She had a personality like no other.

During her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking and cleaning. Anyone could receive a full course meal from her, and they could even take a plate to go. She was loved and she showed love daily to everyone. Mother Emma had a heart of gold.

Our love one has been taken, but God has gained another. On Monday, July 27, 2020, Mother Emma was called home to be with the Lord, at Pruitt Health Center, Walterboro, South Carolina. As she enters her new life, she will be greeted with love from her parents; Fred Brodus, Sr., and Clara Bell Brodus; (1) Nephew; Timothy Riley,; whom she helped raised within the home.

She leaves to cherish her legacy of love; (1) Loving and Devoted Son: Olando C. (Renique) Spiller, Sr.; Fairfax, SC; (2) Grandsons reared in the home, Olando C. (Bianca) Spiller, Jr., Barnwell, SC, and Corey Spiller, Augusta, GA; (2) Great-Granddaughters; Aari'Onna and Au'Briegh Spiller both of Barnwell, SC; (1) Devoted Sister; Anna Riley, Martin, SC; (3) Brothers; Herman Brodus, Allendale, SC, Jay (Flossie) Brodus, Beaufort, SC, and Fred Brodus, Jr., Scottsville, KY; (1) God-Grandson; Kareem Riddle, Jr., Martin, SC; (3) Sisters-in-law; Marie Brodus, Martin, SC, Annette Brodus, Barnwell, SC, and Anne Mae Brodus, Beaufort, SC; (1) Brother-in-law; Ned Riley, Orangeburg, SC; (1) Devoted Niece; Pricilla Brodus, Martin, SC. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sympathizing friends.

When I am gone, release me, I have so many things to see and do. You mustn't tie yourself to me with too many tears, but be thankful we has so many good years. "Cat"

"And all were weeping and bewailing her: but he said, weep not; for she is not dead, but sleepeth." (Luke 8:52) Sometimes, there aren't words to express, during the loss of a loved one. Just no Chip and the entire Spiller/Brodus family, that you have friends that care. Praying for your strength.
