To know Barry was to love him; he was a fun-loving, free spirited person and loved people. Barry had many friends and was always the life of the party. No one was a stranger to him just friends he had yet gotten to know. He enjoyed every day of life as if it were the last day of life.

Upon graduation from college, Barry returned to Washington District of Columbia to work for many years with the Washington Hospital System until his retirement. Barry was an avid basketball player throughout high school and college where he was awarded with numerous accolades for his athletic skills.

Wright, Voorhees, New Jersey, brothers, Commodore Charles (Felecia) Florence, South Carolina, and Frederick Wright, Hampton Virginia; one aunt, Mrs. Frances Martin, Florence, South Carolina; nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives; and special friends all of whom will miss him dearly.

Barry became a part of our family with his quiet, faithful and loving heart he shared with us all, especially our sister, Donna who loved him so very much. Barry was her friend, her caretaker and even the one who lifted her off the bus when she couldn't do it herself! He was her "Knight in shining armor" the light of God surrounded Barry and we will miss him so very much. Our sincere condolences to his family who shared him with us.

Barry has been a resident of the building we manage for over 5 years. He was always so friendly and mild-mannered. He was large in stature but was was a gentle giant. We will certainly miss his presence. My condolences to the family. I spoke to him the day before his passing and he told me how his family always looked out for each other. You all now have an angel looking out for you. God bless!
