Obituary For Reverend Tommie Crawford

Reverend Tommie Lee Crawford was the son of the late Reverend John C. Crawford and Minister Dovie Kendrick Crawford. He was born in York County, South Carolina on October 31, 1936. He departed this life on Sunday; July 26, 2020 at the Brian Health and Rehabilitation Center in Gastonia, North Carolina.

Reverend Tommie accepted Christ at the early age of nineteen. Soon after, he joined Mills Chapel F.B.H. Church, Gastonia, North Carolina. He was called to ministry. He allowed the Lord to speak through him anywhere the Lord chose; which included the ministry of playing of the piano. He was a founding and faithful member of East Dallas Church of God in the mid 1960’s. Reverend Tommie continued to accept his call to the ministry, preaching and teaching the word of God. He joined Greater New Mills Chapel Church. Still preaching, teaching, spreading and obeying God’s care. He would often remind us that he is calling all and waiting on none. Reverend Tommie was saved, sanctified and holy ghost filled. Tommie loved the Lord! His actions were proof.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife; Elouise Crawford, his second wife: Predencia Woods; three sisters: Margaret Gingles, Josephine Wilson, and Sally Brown; two brothers: Haywood Crawford and John Henry Crawford and one granddaughter: Cheyenne Harris-Worth.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories-his daughters: Kelly Crawford, Jenine Harris-Ellis (Leonard) and Jereta Harris (Persaler); six grandchildren: Nicolas Crawford, Heidi Burris, Taylor Rodman, Hayley Harris, Chancelor Harris and Chase Harris; one great grand: Mackenzie Rodman; two sisters: Martha Smith and Miriam Cook; two brothers: William Crawford (Betty) and Samuel Crawford and a host of other relatives and friends.
