Obituary For Ashlee Sierra Sims Kency

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 11:00 a.m., Old Strangers Home M.B. Church, Garner Street, Jackson, MS with burial in Autumn Woods Cemetery, 4000 W. Northside Drive, Jackson, MS 39209.

Family and friends gather to celebrate the life of Ashlee Sierra Sims, affectionaltely known as "Sierra." She was born on January 14, 1994 in Jackson, Mississippi to Ms. Shelia Sims and Mr. Tajie Carter both of Jackson, Mississippi. Ashlee accepted the invitation of immortality on July 28, 2020.

Ashlee accepted Christ at an early age and attended Old Stranger Home Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi under the leadership of Reverend Joe A. Washington. She was a very active member in her church home, where she also made sure her kinds where involved and active as well.

She attended Brown Elementary School, Brinkley Middle School, and Forest Hill High School where she graduated in 2012. after graduating from Forest Hill, she attended Hinds Community College where she studied Early Childhood Development. She soon after entered the workforce where she worked as a crew leader at McDonald's, a cashier at Sprint Mart, and also a Certified Nursing Assistance which she was currently employed as at the Mississippi State Hospital until her Father called her home.

Ashlee was a very charismatic young woman who was very outspoken, funny and overwhelming loving. She was an authentic and a genuinely loving person who kept that huge smile on her face. One of her favorite things to do was cook, and boy did she coop up some big good old southern meals for her family regularly. She was a loving mother, an adored daughter, an overprotected sister, a caring aunt, a wonderful niece, a fun cousin, and a funny friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerrie Kency, her maternal grandmother, Carolyn Ann Whitfield, her great aunts, Shirley Whitfield and Hester Whitfield, her great uncle, Perry Whitfield, and her favorite cousin Cortez Houston.

Ashlee leaves to cherish her memory; her memory, her two prize possessions, her children, Ashton and Azaria Sims, her loving parents, Ms. Shelia Sims, Mr. Tajie Carter, her five sisters, Ruby Sims, Shetogie Sims, Ladaisha Carter, MyKayle Carter, Takerria Carter, her brother; Tajie Carter, Jr., her aunts, Theresa Sims, Stacy Carr (Troy), Alysse Milton, her uncles, Antonio Sims (Lisa), John Sims, her great uncle, Joe Whitfield (Lorretta) her great aunt, Mary Whitfield, her godparents, Larry Ashford (Catherine) her godsister Dominique Ashford and a host of other relatives, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
