Mrs. Lillye Mae White Sharper (79) of Valdosta, GA was listening and heard the voice of The Lord whisper: Come, ye disconsolate, where’er ye languish; Come to the mercy seat, fervently kneel. Here bring your wounded hearts; here tell your anguish. Earth has no sorrow that heav’n cannot heal. Mama Sharper, as she was affectionately called believed what she sung about for over 40 years. “We have heard the joyful sound Jesus Saves, Jesus Saves.”
For she knew, that one day being at home in Heaven meant that all suffering would be abolished for eternity. On Friday, July 31, 2020 while at South Georgia Medical Center she fought a good fight, she finished her course, she kept the faith and went home to be with the Lord.
Mama Sharper was as born on February 2, 1941. She was married to the late Theoartis “Papa Sharper” Sharper for 56 years.
There will be a special viewing on Friday, August 7, 2020, from 6 pm- 8 pm at Greater Mt. Carmel Holiness Church, H.O.G.S.I.C. Ministries, 1106 Old Lake Park Rd in Valdosta, GA.
The Life Legacy Services will be celebrated on Saturday, August 08, 2020 at 1:00 PM from The Ralph Harrington Memorial Chapel - 713 Lake Park Road, Valdosta, GA. Pastor David M. Northcutt officiating.

Lillye Mae “Mama Sharper” White Sharper leaves to cherish memories and celebrate her life her six children: Bobby White (Tonya) of Jacksonville, FL, Gary Sharper (Cynthia), Shell Sharper Lawson (Johnny), Donna Sharper Lawson (Willie), Eric Sharper (Lisa) and State Rep. Dexter Sharper (Chequella), all of Valdosta, GA; her four sisters: Louise Oliver, Gladys Johnson (David Lee), Joann Pittman (Cleveland) and Dorothy Moore (Joseph); three brothers: Arthur White (Laverna), Ozell White (Winnie) and Ronnie White (Edith); special grandson : Shi-Yaung Sharper, special nephew: Xavier Godfrey; special niece Estella Thomas special cousin: Betty Ruth Tooley (John); Her church family at Mt. Carmel Holiness Church, The Staff at Valdosta Dry Cleaners; seventeen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Mother Lillye Mae ”Mama” Sharper will be laid to rest in the Harrington Rest Cemetery in Delmar, Georgia Due to COVID-19, there will be no repast.
