Obituary For Mae Helen Benjamin

Mae Helen Benjamin, 77, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 28, 2020. A daughter of the late Osabie Witherspoon and Ivory Hyatt was born January 22, 1943 in Lancaster County South Carolina.

Mae Helen was a member of White Oak AME Zion Church. Mae Helen was educated in the Lancaster County School System. She was a 1961 graduate of Barr Street High. Left to cherish her memories are one daughter, Racheal Witherspoon of Van Wyck, SC; two sons, Earl Witherspoon of Durham, NC and Dwight Witherspoon of Van Wyck, SC; five grandchildren, Wendy Peoples of Lancaster, SC, Courtney Witherspoon, Damesha Truesdale and Avery Helms of Van Wyck, SC and Micah Witherspoon of Waxhaw, NC; three great grandchildren, Kezireona Nelson, Iyana Peoples and Cadrian Witherspoon; three sisters, Zenia Graham and Joyce Heath (Willie) of Lancaster SC and Dorothy Hood of Chesapeake, Va. three brothers, Ezell Witherspoon ,Brooklyn, NY, Frank Witherspoon, Van Wyck, SC and Brutie Hyatt, Columbia, SC; two aunts, Ruth Walden of Sliver Springs, MD and Mable L Witherspoon of Washington, DC and one uncle, Clarence Witherspoon of Van Wyck, SC.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 3, 2020 at White Oak AME Zion Church. Services will be conducted by Reverend Diana Charles with burial in the church cemetery.

Viewing will be Sunday 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.at Stewart Funeral Home.
