Obituary For Eddie Frank Lee, Sr.

Eddie Frank Lee, Sr., was born Tuesday, January 25, 1966 to parents, David Lee, Sr., and Merlean Washington Lee. He was one of their four children born in Birmingham, Alabama. When he was school age, the family moved to Louisville, Kentucky. Educated in the Jefferson County Public School system, Eddie graduated from Fern Creek High School.

Although Eddie was not a diehard sports fan, he did favor U of K over other schools. Maybe it was because his favorite color was blue. Mainly he enjoyed fishing all seasons of the year, keeping his cars shiny and glistening with a superb wax job, collecting big cars like vintage Cadillacs or Buick Roadmaster, and grilling out. His barbeque chicken was legendary, along with his egg salad, potato salad and apple pies. Whether he was working in Louisville, or North Carolina, you would find him in the food industry , regularly employed as a cook ,and would work his way up to management- Ponderosa Steakhouse, Gateway Press, or Shoney’s to name a few.

He valued the time he spent with his family and friends. “Eazy Lee” was one of his nicknames the answered to that also described his way of living. Eddie had a great sense of style. He was meticulous with his wardrobe, making sure he was always matched up from head to toe, and that meant a hat or cap to match. He also had a keen eye when it came to decorating. He could take a few furniture pieces and create a magazine worthy design.

Faced with many health issues over his lifetime, sadly Eddie Frank Lee, Sr., departed this life on Tuesday, July 21, 2020. He is preceded in death by his mother. His memory will live on in the lives of his children, Evonie Watkins, Eddie Lee, Jr. (Marshelle), Edward Lee, Antione Lee; father, David Lee, Sr., siblings, Lula Washington, Lesia Lee, David Lee, Jr., Shirley Moore (Dennis); companion and caregiver for 40 years, Cazella Watkins; 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, and host of extended family and friends.
