Obituary For Willi Wilder Jr.

On July 25, 2020, Willi H. Wilder, Jr. departed this life at the age of 59. He was born on July 13, 1961 in Birmingham, AL to the late Willie H. Wilder, Sr. and Dr. Barbara S. Wilder.

He graduated West End High School and went on to study engineering, earning his Civil Engineering degree Texas Southern University. He followed in his father's footsteps by becoming a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He had a great fire for life and loved the big city and especially New York. He spent most of his adult life building his family with his wife and their son in New York City. He served his beloved city through his career by working for the New York City Department of Transportation. Willi "Bug" Wilder had a bold personality and loved fashion and the arts.

He became interested in natural foods and loved cooking for his family. He shared this gift most recently with his mother, having returned to Birmingham to care for her in her final days.

He is survived by his loving wife Adrienne, sons Bijan Wilder and Eric Hines; aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other family and friends. Graveside services will be held at Elmwood Cemetery on August 4, 2020 at 11:00 am with Bushelon presiding
