To the Maxie family, I pray your hearts have healed from the home going of Carlos, he was a wonderful man and Ex Coworker of mine during my days at UT Southwestern St Paul. On my first day I met remarkable and kind soul. Carlos encouraged me to pursue my dreams and passions of becoming a nurse and thanks to his encouragement I graduated from both college and nursing school. Sometime has passed since I have both work for UT and seen Carlos, I will never forget him, kind and respectful, encouraging, it was an honor to know him. I learned only this week 4/28/2022 he passed away, told to me by a coworker of mine she work for both UT and at my current hospital job. I happen to say oh, you work for UT and she said yes, I said do you know Carlos Maxie she said yes and sadly he passed away. I cried in that moment. RIP Carlos, Kyra Mills and Family

I am so deeply sadden by the passing of Carlos Maxie. I had the pleasure of working with him for about 12 years and never seen him really have a bad day. Even when he wasn't feeling good he still joked around and kept a smile on his face. He was a great boss, friend and mentor. He motivated me to strive for more out of life and never settle for what was given. Although I know I was a hand full at work lol he still looked out for me and made sure I got back on the right path. He gave everyone the benefit of the doubt and always tried to help whenever he could. It is hurtful to have to place RIP in front of his name and I send my deepest condolence to his wife Cynthia Maxie. My prayers are with you and your family. Lashonda Butler

My deepest condolences to the Maxie family for your loss. I pray for your strength and peace. Carlos was a true gentleman that I enjoyed working over the years. His calm natured demeanor and kind spirit made him such an admirable person. Adversity didn't break him, the whirlwinds roared but couldn't move him, the tides couldn't drown him, and as his life grew dark, he kept his faith. Carlos endured and overcame it all. He was faithful 'til the end. Take your seat in the kingdom and rest on my brother. Rest on. I will truly miss you. Larry E Carter
