George William Smith, III

Anderson, SC- George William Smith, III, 94, peacefully entered into rest on July 30, 2020. Mr. Smith was the son of the late George and Earline Smith. He was the widower of Lucy F. Smith.

George Smith was a member of Universal Body of Christ Church.

He was employed with Southern Bell.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories are his two sons, Anthony Smith and Gregory Smith of Spartanburg, SC; and his stepson, Preston Miller of Spartanburg, SC.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his mother, Earline Smith; his father, George Smith; four brothers, Willie Smith, Fred Smith, James Smith and John Smith of Fairfeild, SC.

A Celebration of the Blessed Life of George William Smith, III will be held graveside on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at M. J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery, 140 Inway Drive, Anderson, SC. The Bishop Dr. Gary L. Burgess, Sr. will officiate.
