Obituary For Saudia Shaheed-Kroviak

In the Name of God, the Merciful Benefactor, The Merciful Redeemer, All praise is to God.

In Loving Memory of Saudia Latrel Shaheed-Kroviak

August 24, 1977 - August 04, 2020

Saudia was born to Kalem and Raycheal Shaheed on August 24th 1977 in Lubbock, TX. She attended Lubbock schools and graduated from Monterey High School in 1995. In 2000 she earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Tech University in Human Development and Family Studies as dual majors.

Saudia enjoyed working in marketing and advertising as well as being a contributing writer for McKinney & Prosper Lifestyle magazine. She was a volunteer and advocate for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Her favorite pastime activities included spending time with loved ones, binging Netflix, listening to music, journaling creatively, or visiting the serene cows across the street from her apartment. The depth of her love and care for others was inexpressible. No words sufficiently describe the light she brought into this world, but it was easily seen by all who came in contact with her.

She attended various local and online, non-denominational religious services and felt especially guided by 2 Corinthians 5:7: “For we walk by faith, not by sight”

Saudia is survived by her beloved son Malik Shaheed; father and mother, Kalem and Raycheal Shaheed; sister Lateefah Shaheed, all residents of Wylie, Texas. She leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Preceding her death are grandparents William and Blanchie Johnson and Beulah Mae Green.

*** In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in honor of Saudia’s loving memory. Bereavement cards can be mailed to the Shaheed Family at PO Box 472476, Garland, TX 75047.

Thank you all for your prayers, caring words, and loving sentiments.
