Obituary For JC Kitt, Jr.

JC. Kitt Jr. was born on August 2, 1936, to the late J.C. Kitt, Sr. and Sadie Kitt in Fort Pierce, Florida

JC was a lifelong resident of Fort Pierce, Florida. He retired from Saint Lucie County Parks and Recreation as a foreman.

JC was a loving man and very outgoing. He was loved, respected, and admired by his family and friends, lodge brothers and sisters, and neighbors. He enjoyed waking up early driving to McDonalds only to enjoy a “bad cup of coffee” (his words). JC was a faithful member of Greater New Bethel and he highly respected his pastor and church members. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to assist anyone in need. He was known across St. Lucie County and as far as Miami Dade County for his ribs, smoke turkey, and fried turkey. He will greatly be miss by all that admired and loved him.

On Sunday August 2, 2020, JC Kitt Jr. answered the call from his heavenly father at Treasure Coast Hospice Center in Fort Pierce, Florida. He preceded in death by his parents, J.C. Kitt, Sr. and Sadie Kitt; brothers, Donald Kitt, Raymond Jacobs, and Larry Kitt; sisters, Betty Kitt-Williams and Irene Jacobs.

Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Annie Bennett-Kitt; daughter, Tara Kitt-Laudat (Allwin); stepchildren, Patricia Porter, Deborah Davis (Lorenzo), Brenda Bennett, Cynthia Bennett, Roderick Bennett (Barbara), Tracy Bennett-Joseph, Richard Bellamy (Cheryl), Michael Bellamy (Denise), Goodman Bellamy (Gina), and Robert Bellamy (Sherell); brothers, Rev. Willie Kit (Nancy), Vernon Jacobs (Mildred) and Sam Jacobs (Linda); sisters, Bernice Kitt-Courtney, Gladice Jacobs, Ethel Williams (Joe), Alline (Andrew) Jacobs, Valline (Rufus) Sands, Jennifer Taylor and Carolina Jones (Alvin);sister-in-law, Michelle Kitt; cousin, LC Reynolds; close friend, Leroy Lurry; godchildren, Jerome Mullins, Constance Griffin; 25 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends whom will miss him dearly.

Public visitation for JC Kitt will take place on Friday, August 7, 2020 by way of our drive-thru in the rear of Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL between the hours of 4:00pm and 7:00pm. Funeral services will convene on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 12:00pm at Stone Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Pierce, FL. Burial will immediately follow in Rierview Memorial Park in Fort Pierce, FL.

Although many venues have opened and the restrictions of COVID 19 have been relaxed, we here at Stone Brothers Funeral Homes are still enforcing the guidelines set forth by the CDC and FDOH to protect our families and our staff. We ask that you respect this, as it could very well save your life. We also ask that you acknowledge and execute the 6 ft. social distancing guidelines, as well.

JC was my foreman at parks dept for alot of years u could say we where together more than well I would have to look it up to be sure but 30 plus let's just say he was in my everyday an now years of hot summers like this one we are have n now summers where very hard on a person we all hated the heat not the work we really loved our work he used to say how things Mr Geiger ,was our boss at the time would live on after we are all gone well here we are now I know what he meant mr gieger may have been our boss but JC kitty is really the man who has made fort pierce beautiful with hundreds maybe even thousands of beautiful giant oaks an flower in any park in fort pierce if u miss him go sit under one of these old oaks he spent his life on he is there I helped him dig up a tree an plant in his back yard for his family to enjoy now I know he is that mighty oak that will live on for ever Gary Fulp an crew Joe noble Robbie sheilds we miss u all ready
