Obituary For Sallie Bell Floyd

Sallie Bell Speaks Floyd lovingly known as “Bae” of 92 Walden St. Clinton SC. Entered the gates of heaven, August 6, 2020 at the Prisma Richland hospital, after a short illness. She was born on July 2, 1935 to Ella Rainey Speaks and James Speaks.

Ms. Floyd was born in Cross Hill SC and educated in the public school system of South Carolina. She spent her life being of service to others. Her jobs included working at M.S Bailey in custodial services, at Whitten center where she retired after 30 years, National Health Care system as a CNA. After retirement she was a grandparent at M.S Bailey school.

She gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a lifetime member at the Zion Hill Baptist church. She also worshipped at Bethlehem Baptist church. She is welcomed to her heavenly home by her late husband Elbert Shells, her mother and Father. 2 sons Calvin and Andrew Floyd. 2 great granddaughters, Brionna and Brianna Johnson. Three brothers Lou Wash Sr (Bessie) Speaks, James (Corrine) Speaks, Patrick “Pat” Speaks. Her sisters Sarah (Leo) James and Bertha (Charlie) Workman.

She leaves to cherish her life; 8 children; Vera Rice and Ricky Shells both of the home. James (Ernestine) Floyd, Sally Clark, and Marie Johnson all of Clinton. Jimmy Floyd of Washington DC Vickie (Jesse) Crawford of Greer SC. David Speaks of Savanah GA. A special grandson Quinton McCoy who was reared in the home. One daughter in law Marvis Floyd of Whitmire SC . A sister Bessie Shands of Clinton, A sister in law Bertha Lindsey of Gray court SC and brother Marlon White of Cross Hill. 17 Grandchildren, 17 Great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren, A host of nieces and nephews cousins and friends.

The private service will be held Tuesday August 11, 2020 at Orchard Park Memorial Gardens.
