Obituary For Miriam Vanette Shaw

Miriam Shaw, affectionately called "Gidget," was born on September 16, 1959 in Fort Pierce, Florida to the late Wesley and Pearl(Hayes) Shaw.

As a child, Miriam was a member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend R.J. Clifton and later under Reverend H.D. Coleman. There she had attended until the family moved to Milwaukee, WI at the age of 14.

She later moved back home to Fort Pierce where she was under the care of her sister Flora P. Shaw and then she became under the care of her sister, Carol Shaw.

Miriam loved to dance and sing. She will try and find time to try and read her bible, but her joy came when she could give God a praise dance.

Miriam never met a person who she didn't like. She always thought of everyone as her friend and she was loved by all those who knew her. Miriam also enjoyed volunteering for the ARC of St. Lucie County and Good Will.

On August 4, 2020, Miriam was called home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Pearl(Hayes)Shaw; brothers, Hart, Marcus, George Sr., Herman, Larry, Leon, John Wesley, Donnell; sisters, Margaret, Flora, Patricia, Barbara, and Betty; nephew, Kenneth Shaw, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her love and memory her siblings, Calvin(Justine)Shaw, David, Scott, Carol Shaw, Harry(Bulah)Shaw all of Fort Pierce, FL, Charlie(Marie)Shaw of Orlando, FL and Janice(Dominic)Mensah of Westerville, OH; sisters-in-law, Bernice Shaw, Beatrice Shaw of Fort Pierce and Murry Shaw of Milwaukee, WI, Ann Shaw of Cartersville, GA; neices and nephews that she grew up with, Linda Kendricks, Byron Tolbert, Marchina Jones, Herman Sumpter, Herbert shaw, Vito Mensah, Ronnie Shaw, Marlo Edwards, Kenny Gilchrist, and other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends and relatives that will miss her dearly.
