Obituary For Mozella Martin-Betts

Mozella Hortense Martin-Betts was born on August 2, 1937 in Loughman, FL, to the late Edward Oliver and Emma Grant

“Moe” as she was affectionately called received her education in the public school system in Polk County.

“Moe” received her Christian experience at First Bethel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Byrd. She later moved her membership to Holy Ghost Deliverance under the leadership of the late Gwendolyn Reeves. She eventually united with Hall’s Memorial Church if God in Christ.

On Thursday, August 6, 2020, Moe transitioned from labor to reward to be with her Heavenly Father. The Lord saw she was getting tired and he gently called her home. Her battle had been fought and her victory had been won. She was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse, Ulysses Bobby Betts, her daughters, Debra Martin, Barbara Ingram and Brenda Young, granddaughter, Carnisha Betts.

Left to cherish her precious memories are a son, Samuel Martin, daughters, Emma Carroll, Barbara Briggs, Levette Ingram, Gwendolyn Betts and Sharyl Betts all of Ft Pierce, FL. Siblings, Roberta (William) James and Allen Oliver of Boston, Massachusetts. Grandchildren -7, a multitude of great and great great grands and a host of aunts, uncles, in-laws, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.

Public visitation for Mozella Martin-Betts will take place on Friday, August 14, 2020 by way of our drive-thru in the rear of Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL between the hours of 4:00pm and 7:00pm. Funeral services will convene on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 10:00am at Stone Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Pierce, FL. Burial will immediately follow in Rierview Memorial Park in Fort Pierce, FL.

Although many venues have opened and the restrictions of COVID 19 have been relaxed, we here at Stone Brothers Funeral Homes are still enforcing the guidelines set forth by the CDC and FDOH to protect our families and our staff. We ask that you respect this, as it could very well save your life. We also ask that you acknowledge and execute the 6 ft. social distancing guidelines, as well.
