A very kind and Godly man. He was one of those people that as you looked at the way he lived his life and the way he treated others...he was a Man of God!!! Although our lives went different directions...I never stopped respecting or admiring him. Rest in Heaven... Dwight

To have known Ferd, was to know a man who loved GOD, his family, his church and his community. To have known Ferd, was to know a man with great character, integrity, a "one of a kind" charisma. To have known Ferd, you had a "TRUE" friend. To have known Ferd, is to now have a treasure filled with great memories and great stories to cherish forever. I am grateful, thankful and blessed to have known Ferd. I extend condolences and prayers to Thurlene, Karen, Krystal and the extended family. -Gwendolyn Shields

May each of you cherish the special memories of the life of Ferdinand. He left a legacy of a life well lived because he made a lasting contribution to his family, his church, and community. Although we don't always understand why things happen as they do, we must have faith that, in time, God will give us the answers. Ferdinand was an awesome cook who enjoyed helping others. Please know we share in the many great memories. Wishing you the comfort of memories and know that God will comfort and strengthen you. LOVE YOU THE TURNER FAMILY (WILLIE & PATRICIA)

Condolences from the Rone & Chatman families!! Some of our favorite memories of Fernand were of him bringing the fish fryer and frying fish and cold watermelons down to Mrs.Rone home. Sitting in the rocking chairs talking about God,our families and solving the world problems our way. Oh the songs that he would sing to moma (Mrs.Rone). You are and will be missed!!! See you again in the land of the living!!

Holy Spirit please comfort the hearts and grant peace and comfort for the Holmes Family: Thurlene, Karen (Aubrey), Krystal (Trent), Family, Friends, Ferdinand's Catering Team, Pastor Bartholomew and Lady Valarie Orr and the Brown Missionary Baptist Family, and FedEx Family. Mr. Ferdinand Holmes affectionately known as "Ferd" was an Earthly Angel who will NEVER be forgotten! We have very fond memories of Ferd and Larry while working on a video team project at FedEx "Rolling on the River." Ferd and Larry brought pure Joy and Laughter to the project! I was the only female working with Allen's management team of all males who showed me love, respect and treated me as a sister, "thank you!" We have fond memories of the management team who often fed the team. We knew Ferd was selfless and he constantly worked behind the scenes. Then, there are fond memories of vast Brown Baptist picnics which included thousands who were fed. "Ferd, thank you!" You taught us about brotherly concern, kindness and service..."Again, thank you!" Finally, we have fond memories while working with Ferdinand's Catering. We Love and Appreciate YOU!!!!! Ferd, take your well deserved rest in peace at the Lord's feet. Thurlene, Karen and Krystal thank you as well for sharing this Angel with the world.

My fondest memories of Ferdinand are from our days in band at Kennedy High School in Grady. Ferdinand seemed to get so excited as he played his sax. I was saddened to hear of his passing but I believe he is resting in the arms of Jesus. My prayers for God's comforting blessings to the family.

Mr. Ferdinand Holmes was more than a man! He was my angel here on earth! He is someone to admire and look up to, and will always be one of my heroes. He was definitely one of a kind and very smart, eloquent to say the least. You could sit and talk with him for hours at a time. He loved to talk about current events, God, his family, and how to cook certain things. When my father passed Mr. Holmes took me under his wing and treated me as if I were his daughter. I can never express what this man truly means to me. I am thankful that I got to spend time with him, and I can truly say he got his flowers while he was physically here with us. Rest well Mr. Holmes in eternal light! -Love Alia A.K.A Ms. Chi-Town as you liked to say!
