Graveside service for Phyllis L. Whiteside Garrett, 62, of Anniston, Alabama will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at the Edgemont Cemetery with Dr. Walter L. Solomon, Sr; officiating. Viewing will be held from 3:00-5:00 PM on Friday, August 21, 2020 in the chapel of Goodson Funeral Home.

Phyllis departed this life and began her eternal rest on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the Diversicare Nursing Facility in Oxford, Alabama. Phyllis was educated in the Anniston city school system and graduated from Anniston High School in the class of 1976. She continued her education and graduated from Berea College in Berea Kentucky. She was employed with the Anniston public school system and with the Boys and Girls Club of East Central, Alabama. Memories of Phyllis will forever be cherished in the hearts of her loving mother, Mattie Jean Whiteside, her siblings; Brenda Whiteside Johnson, Ellis B. Whiteside, Jr; Cassandra Denise Whiteside, and Kenneth Earl Whiteside.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ellis Whiteside, Sr. Goodson Funeral Home Inc. directing 256.237.9771.
