Obituary For Memphis Swain

Funeral services for Mr. Memphis Bernard Swain, 50, of Wichita, Texas, formerly of Talladega will be held Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 1PM at S.M.

Goodson Funeral Home Chapel in Talladega with Rev. Billy Curry officiating. Burial will follow in Kelly Springs Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020 from 1-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Professional services entrusted to S.M. Goodson Funeral Home-Talladega. Memphis Bernard "DJ Memp Ski" Swain was born on April 2, 1970 to the late Juanita (Luman) Swain and Thomas (Earnestine) Jemison in Talladega, Alabama. On Sunday, August 16, 2020, Memphis transitioned to his eternal rest while residing in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Memphis was a well-known DJ and Barber, who was loved by many and had a passion for music while being the life of the party. Memphis leaves to cherish his precious memories; two sons, JaColvy (Brandy) Cook Sr. and Josh Curry of Talladega; three grandchildren, JaColvy Cook, Jr. Taniah Taul, and SheCove Cook; one sister, Bridgett (Hace) Swain; one brother, Tellas (Tiffany) Swain, Sr.; two nieces, Brittany Swain and Takerria Swain; three nephews, Cordarryl Swain, Jaquavion Hall, and Tellas Swain, Jr.; his wife, Laura Rivers Swain; one stepson, Javier White; two stepdaughters, Toya White and Temia White of Talladega, and a host of step-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Swain; a son, La'Memphis Fuller; a brother, Dennis Swain; and grandparents, Bobby and Gertie Mae Jemison and Willie Swain, Jr. and Minnie Jae Swain.
