Obituary For Darrell Andre Robinson aka “Robbyo”

Mr. Darrell Andre’ Robinson, affectionately called Robbyo of Greenwood entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 29th at Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was 64 years old.

He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church. He was very active in the Music and Videography Ministries. He played the drums for all choirs and video all services for the absent, sick and shut-in.

Robbyo attended the public schools of Pinellas County, starting at Campbell Park Elementary School, 16th Street Middle School and Northeast High School, graduating with the Class of 1974. He enjoyed being in the band, where he was the Drum Major.

Robbyo later moved to Marianna, Florida and furthered his education at Chipola Junior College. He earned his certification as a machine and automotive mechanic. He also worked as a disc jockey and at Lehigh Furniture Company where he was a furniture builder. He worked with Lehigh until they closed. He then became self employed.

He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church. He was very active in the Music and Videography Ministries. He played the drums for all choirs and videoed all services for the absent, sick and shut-in.

He leaves precious memories with his loving and devoted companion of 30 years, Olivia Barnes Robinson of Greenwood, Florida; his mother, Betty J. Shazier of St. Petersburg, Florida; three sons, Darryl Reed of St. Petersburg, Florida, Werlean Pollock of Birmingham, Alabama and Davarius Robinson of Marianna, Florida; four daughters, Melody Pollock of Marianna, Florida, Sharika Reed of St. Petersburg, Florida, TaKevia Pollock of Marianna, Florida and Sierra Reed of St. Petersburg, Florida; two sisters, Debra Wynn and Sonya Davis both of St. Petersburg, Florida; 15 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; mother-in-law, Lurene Barnes of Greenwood, Florida; three brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A public viewing will be held Tuesday, September 8th from 3-6p.m.at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel.

A Celebration of Robbyo’s life will be held Wednesday, September 9th at 11:00a.m. at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Dwight Cockerham, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
