Obituary For Billy Gene Taylor

Mr. Billy Gene Taylor, 58, of Crawford, the son of Gertie B. Taylor and Earnest Gene Wright was born on June 17, 1962 in Athens, GA and passed away at Piedmont Athens Hospital on August 29, 2020.

He attended Oglethorpe County High School and while there participated in several extracurricular activities such as football, baseball, wrestling, and weightlifting. While weightlifting at Oglethorpe County High, he held the record of bench pressing 350 pounds for a consecutive three years.

He was a member of Brooks Mission Holiness Church in Stephens, GA under the pastorate of the late Bishop James Walker and Mother Emma Walker.

During his adult life, he was employed at Seaboard Poultry in Athens, GA, a stockman at K-Mart in Athens, GA, and a jailer at the Oglethorpe County Jail.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his brother Jimmy (Gwen) Taylor, sister Janice Taylor and Ralph Goolsby, brother Waddis (Cassandra) Taylor, best friends Michael Stovall of Stephens, GA and Ora Mitchell of Crawford, GA.
