Sadie Mae Collins-Peaks

Sadie Mae Collins Peak was born August 27, 1936 to the late Mr. Julius (Speed) Collins and Ada Scott. Preceded in death by her son Roger Peak; five sisters: Margaret Collins Miller, Laura Ann Collins, Willie Mae Armstrong, Elizabeth Collins and Louise Collins; three brothers: G. B. Ward, Columbus Scott and Darryl Collins. She joined Ebenezer AME Church at an early age in Greensboro, Georgia. Sadie received her education in the Greensboro, Georgia School System. She enjoyed visits from family and friends. Her next-door neighbor Johnnie Ruth White would come over and check on her almost every day. Roosevelt Armour would come by, sit and make her laugh until she cried. She always said nobody could tell one like Roosevelt. Her health began to fail, and she was under the care of Legacy Health and Rehab. She was late admitted to Piedmont Hospital where she passed. She leaves to cherish her memory four sons: Willie (Sarah) Collins of Greensboro, Ga., Alton Sr. (Andrea) Collins of Woodville, Ga., Nathan (Mary) Collins and Dennis (Dianne) Collins both of Stone Mountain Ga.; one sister-in-law Lenora Scott of Atlanta, Ga. Also left to mourn her passing are grandchildren: Freda, Derrick, Dwayne, Alton, Jr., Louis, Carlos, Nasha Mae,, Destiny, and Denisha; eleven great grandchildren, Ten siblings; Brenda Hall, Doris Collins of Greensboro, Ga., Darlene Collins of Augusta, Ga; Linda Collins of California; Leonard Smith and Willie Collins of Greensboro, Ga; Flenard Smith of Miami, Fla, Terry Collins and Freddie Collins of Athens, Ga. Bobby Collins of Fayetteville, Ga.; two special friends: Pamela Jackson and Carolyn Webb who she loved like they were her daughters. Pam was always available to take her shopping and to her doctor’s appointments. Carolyn would visit and talk to her for hours and Sadie knew she was just a phone call away. She leaves a host of nieces, and nephews.
