Obituary For Della Ann Timmons

The Governor of South Carolina advises to limit public gatherings to 50 guests or less to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC carefully considered this recommendation and ask that additional guest please participate via live-streaming if it is authorized by the family.

Funeral service for Ms. Della Ann Timmons of Florence will be conducted 11 AM Wednesday, September 9, 2020 in the J O & Annette Smith Memorial Chapel, 307 S. Johns Street, Florence. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens of Florence directed by Smith Funeral Home of Florence.

Della Ann Timmons was born December 14, 1953 to the late Jessie and Fannie Timmons of Florence, South Carolina. She departed this life after a long illness on Friday, September 4, 2020 at McLeod Hospice House.

Della was educated in the schools of Florence and was a graduate of Wilson High School Class of 1972. After graduation Della was employed with Florence General Hospital and later worked at Legg’s Products (Sara Lee Hosiery) until her health declined.

Della accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior; she was a member of Maxwell Baptist Church. She truly loved the Lord and her Church Family. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 23 and the Serenity Prayer.

Della was a loving and devoted Mother to her only daughter, Michelle, an Amazing Sister, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She enjoyed travelling, gardening, attending church and she especially loved and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Della was preceded in death by her brother, Jessie Timmons, Jr.

Left to cherish her precious memories are: her daughter, Michelle D, (Adam) Scott of Florence, South Carolina; two granddaughters, Brittney Monique (Gerard) Hipp and Kechell BreAnna Timmons both of Florence, South Carolina; two great grandchildren, Ayriss Briell Hipp and Gervais Ramell Hipp both of Florence, South Carolina; one sister, Dorothea T. (Harrison) Bolden of Sumter, South Carolina; two nephews, Derrick (Renata) Jordan of San Antonia and Thaddeus (Flora) Jordan both of Dallas, Texas; one niece, Karin Jordan of Columbia, South Carolina; two great nieces, one great nephew; three great great-nieces; three great great-great-nephews; and one special goddaughter, Ms. Lawanda Bruce of Snellville, Georgia.
