Gaila Laverne Adams-Spann

Gaila Laverne Adams Spann was born in Jackson, MS on June 21, 1967, to Mr. Tyrone Adams, Sr. and Mrs. Annie Mae Adams. At an early age, Gaila accepted Christ and was baptized at Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. John E. Cameron, Sr. Gaila later moved her membership to Refuge Temple Apostolic Church under the late Apostle William L. Bonner. She was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost in 1997. Gaila immediately began her mission to serve God as a missionary, and later joined Refuge Temple Choir. She continued her membership under the leadership of Bishop Joe Holden, and the last few years under Pastor Mark Gilbert. Gaila was always found reading her bible. Her favorite scripture was Psalms 27:1– 4(KJV). Gaila played volleyball while attending Murrah High School where she graduated in 1986. She continued and received her Nursing Certification from Rice College. Gaila had a beautiful heart, and she loved anyone that she encountered. Often quiet, her smile and sense of humor kept those around her full of laughter. Later she found her passion when she began working for Jackson Public School Transportation School Service in 1992. Gaila enjoyed reading her bible and watching t.v. (Press Your Luck and Price is Right). She also loved cooking, spending time with her daughters, and family. Gaila also shared a special life-long and unbreakable bond with her loving and devoted husband, Clyde Spann of 32 yrs., and their two amazing daughters. Gaila was preceded in death by her parents (Mr. Tyrone Adams, Sr. and Mrs. Annie M. Adams) and her brother (Tyrone Adams, Jr.) Gaila leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Mr. Clyde Spann; two daughters, Kayla and Jayla Spann; sister, Latrese (Tony) Warren of Memphis, TN; brother, Cornelius (Pamela) Adams of Madison, MS; brother, Adrian Adams of Jackson, MS; sister, Tanisha (Pierrdro) Gallion of Ridgeland, MS, and sister, Nefateria Adams of Ridgeland, MS; her grandmother, Mrs. Hattie Allen, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, lifetime friends and families.
