Artis, muddy, Mango, grandma, she was wonderful. The FIRST African American hair stylist in Eden, North Carolina. Not only a mother, and grandmother but a sister, a mentor, a care taker and a wonderful cook. I remember staying up late nights and eating raspberry sherbert with ginger ale. I remember her teaching me to make dumplings, and sous meat (albeit I don't believe mines will ever be as good). The stories she taught me of her childhood and times she had seen before with party lines and not being able to wear pants also taught me a greater appreciation for my privacy and freedom. Mango will never be forgotten in our hearts and minds. A truly Godly mother. We love you <3 - Jasmine Broadnax (Bobbys baby)
