Mary Ethel Johnson Patterson was born July 16, 1937 in Natchez, Alabama to Willie Albert Johnson, Sr. and Ethel Johnson. She entered into eternal rest on Sept 8, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Albert Johnson Sr. and Ethel Johnson; three brothers, Willie Albert Johnson Jr., Jesse Johnson, and Earl Johnson; and her son, Michael Deon Patterson.

Mary’s pride and joy were her family: children, Tommie Patterson, Willie A. Patterson Jr., and Sandra (Shumphert) Patterson; grandchildren, Lamar Sellers, Chantal Patterson, Antonio Lofton, and Michael A. Patterson; great grandchildren, Rhyleigh Harris and McKennah Patterson. She shared a special bond with her best friend, Nancy Stallworth and all of her cousins.

Mary loved to garden and sit outside with family and friends. She was a caregiver to many and showed loved to everyone she encountered. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren dearly and they will greatly miss her.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m, Saturday, September 19, 2020 in AME Old Liberty Church Cemetery in Natchez, Alabama.
