Walter “Tees” Stevens, Jr., 87, of Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at UPMC Community Pinnacle Osteopathic Hospital. He was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, son of the late Walter, Sr. and Carrie (Williams) Stevens, a U. S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, retired from the Commonwealth of PA State Library, a former member of Macedonia Baptist Church, a member of Cyrene Lodge #169 I.B.P.O.E. of W. and American Legion Ephraim Slaughter Post #733; he loved family visits that would cheer his spirit, loved playing poker, enjoyed reading the Sunday paper and was an avid Eagles Fan and 76ers Fan. His favorite meal was fish, potato salad and greens and his favorite car was a Buick. In addition to his parents, his wife, Beatrice Stevens; his brothers, Richard Stevens and Freddie Stevens; his sisters, Anita Brown and Ethel Stevens preceded him in transitioning into eternal life. He leaves to celebrate his life; his son, Brian Stevens (Yulanda) of Hope Mills, North Carolina; his daughters, Shelby Stevens, Natalie Stevens, Tracey Stevens-Sessomes (Will), Chanda Royal (Howard) and Nicolle Mitchell; his brother, Theodis Stevens, all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; his 13 grandchildren; his 17 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. His life will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 9th at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with viewing 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. and burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
