I remember when she let me do my Cutco Knife presentation and I literally cut my finger tip off at the table. She was so calm and smooth and she bought a knife so I'd feel better lol. I laugh everytime I think about it cause I was trying to impress her and she knew it. She always treat you like I was a son and she really didn't know me too well at first. Her and and. Dawson gave me my first gig at ASU at the Honors Program building Lab Monitor. Easiest job I ever had. Love y'all Family. Love ya sooo much

Judy and I became good friends in 1975. She was that older sister that I never had. We shared a lot of memories and I mean good memories. I know that she was my one true friend. She's gone but she will never be forgotten. I loved her dearly. We will see her again in the paradise.

In August of 2009, my life completely changed. I landed a career in higher education. However, when I accepted the assignment, I asked God to send a mentor in my life, who could show me what higher education is all about. God sent me Mrs. Jessie Daniels Dawson. For the past 11 years, Mrs. Dawson poured wisdom and knowledge into me that I can't begin to explain. Honestly, I would not be the leader I am today in higher education, if Mrs. Jessie Daniels Dawson had not crossed my path. I am forever grateful to God for sending such a unselfish person in my life. Mrs. Dawson, know that I will cherish every thing you taught me. I am grateful for you taking time and using your devoted energy to mentor me. I will always remember your famous phrase, "Bloom wherever you are planted." Rest in heaven my dear mentor! I will always love you dearly! Dr. Glenn King, Jr.

There are so many GOOD memories I have of Judy. She was not only a great friend and mentor but she was like a mom to me while attending ASU. She taught me and other family members how to be professional young adults under her leadership and guidance. I will always be grateful to God for sending me such a beautiful angel.

Jessie, goodbyes are not forever! You were the most comical person I have met, comparing you to our friend Liz Dotson. It will be the little things that you will remember - the not so quiet moments, always saying something funny, but true. The smile which was contagious, the laughter. And although it may seem hard right now, it will be the memories of the little things that help to push away the pain and bring the skies back again. Like scattered seeds, memories boom forever. I am missing you already Jessie. Take your well deserved rest in our Lord's arms. See you one day!

I spent many hours between classes just being in her presence. She is grace, laughter, and wisdom. I appreciate every little conversation and smile she shared.

It's so many memories I have of her in the salon...she had a stern look on her face when I 1st met her then she said something smart and we started laughing. She was a tell it like it is kind of person and it usually was spot on! I admired her work ethics and how strong she was. A fighter in so many ways that one can aspire to. The most memorable was the invite to her home! Oh my God...the hospitality was unmatched. The salon felt so at home with her and Shawaun! Filled with Laughs and warmth. It's a blessing to know them. She's made a mark to last forever.
