Lil D was a senior at Bessemer City High School. His goal was to graduate high school and go to college. Lil Ds a member of New Canaan Baptist Church where he actively participated in the youth ministry. He sung, ushered and played major roles in the drama ministry. He had a quiet, sweet spirit that everyone loved. Lil D was very creative. He loved to listen to and create music. He also used his artistic talents to create skin art. But most of all, Lil D enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather: Andre Stowe; his aunt and godmother: Veronica Lakisha Nichols and godfather: Todd Reid.
Lil D leaves to cherish his fond memories his father: Demorris Jabar “DJ” Nichols, Sr.; his mother: Darlene Stowe “Candy” Nichols; his sister: Dae’jiah Monae Lakisha Nichols, his baby brother: Demorrie Jabar Nichols of the home; maternal grandmother: Mildred Darlene Stowe of Gastonia, NC; maternal great grandmother: Mildred Miller; paternal grandfather: Johnny Nichols of Clover, SC; paternal grandmother: Minnie “Coot” Morrison of Gastonia, NC; maternal aunts: Sissy Hardin and Tina Stowe of Gastonia, NC; maternal uncles: Rydel Stowe, Steven Stowe and Darick Stowe all of Gastonia, NC; paternal aunts: Elaine Pettus (Kenneth) of Clover, SC, Tia Nichols, Shaverna Glenn both of Gastonia, NC; paternal uncles: Maurel Nichols of Lake Wylie, SC; Jason Nichols and Kemond Glenn both of Gastonia, NC; Godmother: Marlene Friday and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
Walk thru viewing will be at the funeral home on Friday; September 11, 2020 from 4 until 8
Funeral service will be Saturday; September 12, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at City Church Fairview-2782 Fairview Drive, Gastonia, North Carolina
Masks are required at all services; funeral on Saturday will be live on Gregory Funeral Service facebook page; social distancing and attendance will be monitored and adhered to.
