Obituary Mrs. Lillie Virginia Thomas Hollis was born on August 2, 1942 in Brooks County, Georgia to the late Mr. Richard Thomas Sr. and Mrs. Ida Jane Silas Thomas. She departed this life on August 31, 2020. Mrs. Lillie was preceded in death by her parents; two step-sisters, Ann Cockfield and Jessie Mae Jordan; four brothers, Bob Thomas, Jr., Sylvester Thomas, Sr., Robert Thomas, Sr., and Billy James Thomas; four aunts, Mandy Carnegie, Minnie Jenkins, Lillie West, Bertha Scott, and Margaret Rogers; and four uncles, “Bubba,” “Joe Jr.”, “George”, and Herbert Silas. Mrs. Lillie Hollis received her formal education within the Brooks County School System and graduated in 1961. Sister Lillie Hollis found Christ and joined the Beulah Missionary Baptist Church where she faithfully served as the mission board secretary for over 10 years. She was also an original member of the special sisterhood known as “The Pearls.” Mrs. Lillie, affectionally called “Lillie V” by her loved ones, leaves to cherish her memory, her four children Sandra (Willie) Cody of Dixie, Ga, Dollie Seay of McDonough, GA, Emmitt Dewitt Hollis (Faye, a special friend) of Fairburn, GA, and Tina (Mark) Tigner of Riverdale, GA; her grandchildren, Martin (Erinn) Seay, Jr., Jeramie (Sunari) Cody, Rajanna (Clifton Jr.) Cheeks, and Marquis Cody; her great-grandchildren, Riley Seay, Ethan Seay, Egypt Seay, Emery Seay, Cayden Cheeks, Royce Cheeks, and Aliyah Cheeks; 3 young men whom she lovingly called her grandsons, Clarence Thomas II, Tymon Brown, and JaQuan Thomas; and a special young lady whom she loved like a granddaughter, Kenyatta Reed. She also leaves to mourn, her beloved sisters, Mamie Curtis of Quitman, GA, Joyce (Charles) Brooks of Dixie, GA; devoted brothers, Henry (Jeanette) Thomas of Tallahassee, FL, and George Thomas and Willie Thomas of Quitman, GA; in-laws Mrs. Johnnie Brown, Mrs. Bertha Hollis, Mrs. Judy Hollis, Mrs. Rock Ann Thomas, Mrs. Wanda Thomas, and Mrs. Cynthia (Arthur) Hollis; a lovely family member, Ms. Bertha Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends who loved her and will miss her dearly.
