Obituary For Evelyn Moore Ford

Evelyn Cornelia Moore Ford, 87, passed away on September 4, 2020 in Jacksonville, Florida.

Evelyn was born in Jacksonville to Ruffin Moore, Sr. and Carrie Moore on November 3, 1932. She graduated in 1949 from Old Stanton High (Ashley Street). She was a member of First Baptist Church of Oakland, 1025 Jesse Street. She worked hard in her lifetime until her retirement. She enjoyed dancing and spending time with family and friends.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Ruffin Moore, Sr. and Carrie Moore; two brothers, Ruffin Moore, Jr., Alfred Moore; a sister, Mildred Moore Williams; sister-in law, Bettye H. Moore and brother-in-law, Solomon (Saul) Williams.

Evelyn is survived by her brother, Nathaniel P. Moore of Washington D.C.; daughter, Valerie (Rumbellis) Robinson; two granddaughters, Sharai (James) Hagerty, Kyla (Ainsley) Battles; four great grandchildren, Noah Hagerty, Chloe Hagerty, Sanai Battles, Ava Battles; sister-in law, Vivian J. Moore; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private graveside service for immediate family was held on September 14, 2020 with Pastor Christopher McKee of First Baptist Church of Oakland officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be given to Hospice or Alzheimer/Dementia Affiliates.
