Obituary For Della Taylor

Della M. Coney Taylor, 74, of Highspire, transitioned into eternal life on Friday, September 11, 2020 in the peace and love of her home. She was born in Harrisburg, daughter of the late William P. Coney, Sr. and Osceola Banks, a graduate of the former John Harris High School and of Gary Whetstone School of Biblical Studies, a member of Harrisburg Brethren In Christ Church and in 2006 retired from Penn Dot. Della was a great cook and loved to prepare meals for her family and friends. She loved to sing and she and her sister, Ella often sang duets. She leaves to celebrate her life, her daughters, Carmen Taylor Garrison and Diedre Taylor McNair (Darryl); her brother, William P. Coney, Jr.; her sister, Mother Ella Byrd; her devoted friend and confidant, Donald Taylor; her five grandchildren; her six great grands and a host of other relatives and friends. Della's life will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 16th at 12 Noon in the Sanctuary of her Church at 2217 Derry St. with viewing 11:00 a.m. until 12 Noon and burial in William Howard Day Cemetery. Covid 19 guidelines will be observed with masks and six foot social distancing for all attendees. Arrangements entrusted to the Ministry of Comfort of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton.
