Obituary For Mother Margaree Walker

~OBITUARY~

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" 2 Timothy4:7

It is with great sadness that the family of Margaree Walker announce that on Tuesday the 15th of September, 2020 our Heavenly Father called home one of his strong-willed children. Margaree was born on April 24, 1933 in Fairfax, South Carolina to the late Eugene and the late Sarah Miller-Walker. Margaree was the youngest daughter to this union that yielded nine children.

At an early age, Margaree joined Hodges Chapel C.M.E. Church and was a faithful member until her passing. In her later years she was affectionally known as Mother Walker.

As a lifelong resident of Fairfax, SC, Margaree attended the public schools of Allendale County. She went on to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked many years at the John E. Harter Nursing Home until her retirement. During retirement, Margaree loved to plant flowers around her home, make her special potato salad and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Margaree will be greeted in her new heavenly home by her oldest daughter, Sheree Walker and youngest son, Michael Walker, three brothers and four sisters.

Margaree will be forever remembered by her children: Gary (Ruth) Walker, Orangeburg, SC and Debra (Kenneth) Robinson, Fairfax, SC, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She will also be remembered by her sister: Sadie Taylor, Bridgeport, CT, one niece reared as her sister: Mattie Reed, Stratford, CT, one sister-in-law: Louise Walker, Fairfax, SC, two special friends that helped care for her, Lee Esther Fitts and Loretta Hartzog. A host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
