Shaniqua graduated form Hamden High School in Hamden, Connecticut “Class of 2005”. While attending Hamden High School, Shaniqua participated in a pre-college nursing and forensics pathology program at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. Pursing her interest in nursing and her love to take care of people, Shaniqua completed a Medical Assistant program at Stone Academy. Following completion of this program, Shaniqua worked at Fair Haven Community Clinic using her skills to provide better health for the community. When her grandmother became ill, Shaniqua used her innate nursing ability to provide ongoing care and support. She loved helping others. As a child, Shaniqua attended Dee Dee’s Center, following in the footsteps of her mother, and studied tap, modern, jazz, ballet and hip-hop. Shaniqua enjoyed reading books, listening to music, cooking and discovering new recipes. In her adult life, Shaniqua continued those things she enjoyed, and had fun babysitting young children and shopping; but most of all, Shaniqua provided a loving and supportive environment for her two beautiful daughters, T’Harah and Cori, whom she would often share with the world their amazing accomplishments in the classroom. Additionally, Shaniqua admired the work of her older brother, LaMar, and would always find ways to encourage and support him. Shaniqua was also the support and the “rock” for many of her family and friends. This is what Shaniqua loved to do and this is what she considered her calling “to take care of people!”
She leaves to cherish precious memories her beautiful daughters, T’Harah Andreyah Bagley and Cori Lanae Carter; brothers, Dr. LaMar Bagley of Washington, D.C. and Dion Lee of New Haven, Conn.; step-father, David Reaves of New Haven,, Conn.; maternal grandfather, John Bagley of Gastonia, N.C.; step-brothers, Adrielle and Byron Reaves; uncles, Dale Williams (Beverly) of Gastonia, N.C., John A. Bagley, Jr. (Gail) of Royal Palm Beach, FL., Michael K. Bagley (Karen) of Hamden, Conn. and Sterling B. Bagley (Yvonne) of North Branford, Conn.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Those who had the privilege of interacting with Shaniqua know her for having a 100 watt smile that would always warm hearts. The contributions that she made to people’s lives enabled them have confidence and pursue their dreams. She was a well-loved person and a special blessing to all who knew her.
