Roy Pitts

Roy “Ted” Pitts, 82 years old, was born to the late Henry Pitts, Sr. and Rachel Adams Pitts on February 18, 1938. He went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 24, 2020 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, North Carolina.

Roy was a member of Gold Hill Baptist Church, York in South Carolina where he was a member of the Hymn Choir. Roy was dedicated and loyal with great work ethic, which he instilled in his children.

As a Maintenance Utility Man, Roy retired from Duke Power after twenty-three years of service. Then he went onto retire from the Town of Dallas after twenty years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Pitts; sisters, Mary E. Pitts, Gladys Pitts Brice, Katherine Pitts Brice, Anita Pitts, Mary A. Thompson and Hattie Pitts Barnett; brothers, Henry Pitts, Howard Pitts and Grandville Pitts.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories six beloved children, Armond Pitts of Vale, N.C., Artina Bynum (Bernard) of Stanley, N.C., Artrina Cole (Melvin) of Kings Mountain, N.C., Roy Pitts (Elizabeth) of Denver, N.C., Carla Pitts (Jarette) of Gastonia, N.C. and Carl Pitts of Stanley, N.C.; sister, Ruby Pitts Davis of Gastonia, N.C.; grandchildren, Marquise Patterson, Brittany Cole, Daquarius Farr, Arlana Pitts, Cydney Pitts, Auliyah Davis, Isaiah Cole, Montrey Doster, Nieja Cole, Tyvin Pitts, Faith Cole, Evionna Cole, Amari Mathieu and Alivia Cole; three great grandchildren a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
