Lillian T. Woodard, 88, of Norfolk, formerly of Richmond, departed this life September 16, 2020. She was the youngest of twelve children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Junius Leroy Woodard, Sr., son, Junius Leroy Woodard, Jr., parents, James E. and Viola Moon Long and her eleven siblings. Lil attended the Medical College of Virginia Saint Philip School of Nursing where she acquired a Registered Nurse status and was the Head Nurse of Pediatrics and the Administrative Supervisor of Nursing Services. She continued her education at Virginia Union University with a B.S. in Elementary Education, graduating Cum Laude earning the "Dorothy Cowling" highest award for excellence in education. She then went on to pursue graduate status from Virginia State University and the University of Virginia. She was a Math and Reading Teacher for Richmond Public Schools for 25 years. Lil was a Deaconess at First African Baptist Church where she served the Lord through numerous ministries. She leaves a legacy of love to two loving sons, Jeffrey Lee (Louise) and John Leonard Woodard; a host of nieces, nephews, grand mom to Jalen, Jayla, Juliana and Jaeda (deceased); special adopted little sister, Marjory and daughter Melissa; other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, September 26 at Scott's Chapel, 116 E.
