To the family of Jettie Mae Miller While there is no way we can feel your pain we do feel your loss of your sister. It's so difficult to lose a family member while it's been years since I saw her but I still remember the talks that we had when she and I would work together at the candy store that her parents had I really looked forward to visiting Arkansas and working in big mamma candy store they were loving people. I loved Jettie like a sister. Back in 1972 she invited me to know the Jesus she knew. I have not been the same since. A few years ago I found her again on line. I would call her every Wednesday night and we would talk about everything from best teaching practices to the meaning of scriptures. I have always been a bit in awe of Jettie. She exuded a quiet confidence born out of knowing Jesus Christ. She knew I was a spirit-filled Roman Catholic with a black heart. I "heard" her smile over the phone when I told her that I walked with The Black Lives Matter group here in Gloucester, Virginia. A couple of years ago Jim and I stopped by her house to visit..first time in over forty years. Billy and Vi came by..great to see them again. Years ago we were all part of a group that prayed together in which the gifts of the Spirit were manifested. Recently, when I asked about a scripture, she would have me read what came before and after to be sure I had the context! She showed me how to live and prepare for my journey home to God. I asked her to reach down and pull me into heaven when God called. I know she will...on that I can depend. Much love to all the family. I weep with you but rejoice for her. In Christ, Mary Lou Fogarty, Phd PS...special thanks to Charlesetta, Billy and Stephanie for treating me like family.

I remember Jettie making a skirt for me for choir. Big Mama was always talking about being active in the church. I didn't know that Jettie could sew. She told me to get the material and she made it for me. A very sweet lady.
