Obituary For Mother Susie M. Ritter

Fairfax, South Carolina

~MY LIFE'S STORY~

"Trust in the Lord with all thine hearts; and lean not onto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

Mother Susie Mae Roberts Ritter, was born December 20, 1929 in Allendale County, South Carolina, to Mr. Rickson Badger Sr., and Janie Badger, both preceded her in death.

On Wednesday evening, September 16, 2020, God in His Infinite wisdom, said to Mother Ritter, "Well done my good and faithful servant You have labored over many things and fought the good fight, come now and take your rest." She was surrounded by her loving family; Ms. Susie Mae made her eternal transition in Glory with her Lord and Savior.

Seeking God's direction and guidance, she joined Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church, Fairfax, South Carolina.

She received her formal education in the public schools of Allendale County.

She was united in marriage to Palmas Roberts, Sr. and this union was blessed with ten beautiful children.

Later in life Susie met and was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Wilbur "Micky" Ritter.

Susie will be remembered for the love she had for her family and friends and will be missed by all that knew and loved her. She would often say she was "rich off of love, because of all the love her very LARGE family had her for."

In addition, to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving son: James "Choke" Roberts; Son-In-Law; Donald Freeman; (1) Grandson; Kenneth Roberts; and (1) Great-Grandson; Mar'Quelle Thomas

Again, my most deepest condolences to the family. You all are always in my thoughts and prayers. It's hard to put into words, what Mae-Mae meant to me, without saying, Grandmother... Since 1989, there had been no family gathering, that I had attended, without her telling me, "You know, you just like family...", and she treated me just like hers, to the end. She was like, my down to Earth Grandma, who kept it all the way real. I miss her realness already... I love her soul... I thank the Roberts-Ritter families, for sharing her with me. May she rest, in Paradise.

A limb has fallen from the family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says "Grieve not for me". Remember the best times, the laughter, the songs and dances. The good life Ms. Susie lived when she was strong. Continue her heritage, she's counting on you. Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through. Continue traditions no matter how small, for each one will remind you of a fond memory to reflect upon. Family was her pride and joy so let that continue as future generations unfold. I am praying for peace beyond all understanding for you and your family. With heartfelt sympathy, Gerzell Chaney Allendale County Treasurer and Staff
