Acie was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from the Department of Defense Dependents Schools after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Saint Paul High Street Baptist Church and was a member of the Masons, and the Omega Psi Phi.
Acie leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Zenaida Sabb of the residence; three daughters, Dina A. Crawford of Augusta, GA, Keeya Sabb Clayton of Orlando, FL and Alicia J. Sabb of Rota, Spain; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; nine siblings, Audrey Harrell of Suffolk, VA, Khaleedah Muhammad of Columbia, SC, Rev. Teresa Davis of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Virgis Cutler of Kyle, TX, Juanita Young of Norfolk, VA, Samuel Davis, Jr of Virginia Beach, VA, Renita Renee Crandle of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Diane Davis of Norfolk, VA and John Davis of Mitchellsville, MD; a special uncle, Rev. William Giles of Philadelphia, PA; and a special loving aunt, Mattie Mae Penn of Martinsville, VA;and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at the home, 115 Sellers St., Martinsville, VA. A public viewing will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 2 p.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home with Rev. William Giles of Macedonia First John Baptist Church, Philadelphia, PA eulogist and Rev. Teresa Davis, M. Teresa Davis International Outreach Ministries, Inc., Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. The CDC guidelines will be in place requiring a face covering and social distancing. Burial will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens. Omega Psi Phi will have a Memorial ceremony for Mr. Sabb on Friday, September 25, 2020, at Hairston Funeral Home.
