Obituary For Albert "Joe" Saunders, III

Mr. Albert “Joe” Saunders (III) was one of ten children born to Leo Rendleman Sanders and the late Albert Sanders. He was born in Lincoln County, North Carolina on May 12, 1954. Albert made his transition on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at his home.

Albert graduated from East Lincoln High School, Class of ’72. He was an awesome basketball player. He was employed with Southern Concrete Materials & TWD Trucking Company.

He was well known by neighbors and friends throughout the community as “Joe”. He was a member of Rock Hill United Methodist Church and worked diligently to help his church during his time of attendance. Joe had a special love and place in his heart for his family, especially his son, grandchildren & great granddaughter.

In addition to his father, Mr. Albert Sanders, he was preceded in death by his only son, Courtney Saunders, whom he loved dearly. .

Those left to cherish and celebrate his loving memories are his mother, Mrs. Leo Sanders; grandson, Paris Saunders; granddaughter, Keosha Beatty and great granddaughter, Kinsley Saunders; three brothers, Lewis (Martha) Sanders of Stanley, NC, Milton (Annette) Sanders of Anderson, SC, Charles (Shelly) Sanders of Charlotte, NC; six sisters, Mary Daniels of the home, Mildred Maddox of Lincolnton, NC, Zettie Easter of Lowesville, NC, Brenda (Ricky) McDowell of Stanley, NC, Roberta (Jerry) Coulter of Newton, NC, and Pamela (Steve) England of Greensboro, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and very close special friends.

Walk thru viewing at the funeral home on Friday; September 25, 2020 from 6 until 8.

Funeral: Saturday; September 26, 2020; 1:00 p.m.; Gold Hill Missionary Baptist Church-7447 Old Plank Road, Stanley

Visitation: one hour before the service at the church with the family present at 12:30 (Body will lie in state at the church beginning at 11:00 a.m.)

Interment: Gold Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Stanley

Masks are required at all services and funeral will be live on Gregory Funeral Service facebook page beginning at 1:00 p..

A special friend growing up in Stanley, All the Kids, The Rendleman's kids, The Saunder's kids, Mickey Platts up and down that red dirt road then. May God Be with your Family. Joe was my childhood friend, he was my buddy coming up. I would love to go to my Aunt Bessies house in the Summer and on weekends. It would be the Rendleman's kids,the Lowery kids the Saunder's kids, Mickey platts, we all would be up and down that red dirt road back then, picking Blackberries along the way, We all was Family/Friends. Joe was a sweesweetheart, his smile, he was always laughing and having a good time. Sending my Deepest Sympathy My God Be With The Saunder's Family I Love You All So Much

I will truly miss Joe he always had a smile on his face and he brought joy to every one he met. Joe was true to himself. He was not a person who tried to impress you. Joe was Joe and I loved that about him. A light is dim in the community because Joe is not there. Thank you Joe for the memories.
