Obituary For Michael Alphonso Chatman, Sr.

Michael Alphonso Chatman was born March 6, 1963 in West Helena, Arkansas to parents, Eddie Chatman, and Esmond Rogers.

Michael Chatman obtained his High school diploma from Westwood High school class of 1981.

Michael Chatman was employed by Fort Pierce Utilities Authority (FPUA) for 30 years as a driver and retired in 2017. Later he joined the St. Lucie County School system as a bus driver.

Michael Chatman was blessed with a loving and devoted wife, Yulee Gordon, on March 12, 1990. This union brought together one son Michael Chatman Jr. and four daughters Letitia, Ebony, Shetara, Nikita. Michael Chatman loved deeply and gave generously of himself to his family, friends, and service to others.

Michael Chatman was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Chatman.

Left to cherish his memory and continue in his legacy in Christ are his loving and devoted wife of 30 years: Yulee Chatman of Fort Pierce, FL; mother: Esmond Rogers; children: Michael Chatman Jr.(Arlayna), Letitia Rolle, Ebony Johnson(Joshua), Shetara Chatman, Nikita Chapman(Michael); grandchildren, Michael A. III, Andrew, Daniel, Luke, Joanna, Let’ Tia, Lettreceia, Raishoud, Yahkari, Hannah, Nathan, Sophia, Michael E. III, Marcus, Josiah, Bryan; siblings Samuel Bateman, Linda Rogers, Reginald Bateman; uncles: Theodore Rogers, and Archie Rogers; aunts, Bobbie Lampkin (Willie), Amie Rogers, and Gracie Chatman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.

Public visitation for Michael Chatman, Sr. will take place on Friday, September 25, 2020 at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL between the hours of 5:00pm and 7:00pm. Funeral services will convene on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 10:00am at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, FL. Burial will immediately follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce, FL.

Although many venues have opened and the restrictions of COVID 19 have been relaxed, we here at Stone Brothers Funeral Homes are still enforcing the guidelines set forth by the CDC and FDOH to protect our families and our staff. We ask that you respect this, as it could very well save your life. We also ask that you acknowledge and execute the 6 ft. social distancing guidelines as well.
